Reade Foong

Reade Foong is an associate attorney with a developing practice focused on public and commercial law. He assists clients in High Court litigation and complex commercial matters, particularly those involving regulatory frameworks and organs of state, including municipalities, Eskom and the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA).

His work frequently engages questions of regulatory compliance, administrative justice and constitutional principles. Reade supports private and commercial clients in matters involving regulated industries, public procurement, and disputes arising from the exercise of public power.

He is currently enrolled for an LLM in Public Law at Nelson Mandela University, where his research focuses on energy and regulatory law, analysing the legal framework governing bulk electricity supply disputes and the role of state actors in that context. His academic grounding in public law informs his strategic and solutions-driven approach to commercial contracts, litigation and advisory work.

Reade is also a qualified mediator, bringing a practical understanding of negotiation and dispute resolution to his practice.
